Celebrity’s Eden restaurant on the Edge is a feast not only for the eyes but also for the palate. We had dinner there twice on our latest cruise, and here is our review.
Celebrity Cruises‘ Eden is a specialty restaurant found only on their Edge-class ships: Edge, Apex, and Beyond at this writing. It is a stunning three-story venue with soaring ceilings, hundreds of plants, and an unparalleled view of the ship’s wake.

The Details
Eden offers a seven-course tasting menu with wine, or you can order à la carte as you wish. During our visit, there was no up-charge for ordering more than one appetizer or entrée.
The cover charge for this specialty restaurant is $60.00 per person to order off the menu, or $100.00 per person for the tasting menu with wine, but it’s well worth it. It is open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and has live music nightly. The dress code for Eden is Smart Casual attire.
The bar and café are on the second level, usually on Deck 5, which is where the restaurant’s entrance is located. The restaurant is a level down, accessed by stairs from the bar area. The top level is a balcony that surrounds the venue, looking down on it, and contains seating for those wanting to enjoy the live music.
The Food
And the food? It is unparalleled, easily making Eden the best restaurant on the ship, and we were in the Retreat and ate many of our meals at their exclusive Luminae restaurant. Luminae is wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but the food at Eden is even better.
If you try something and don’t care for it, don’t worry. Just let your waiter know and they will bring you something else. No problem.
We had eaten at Eden last year and weren’t inclined to go back, put off by the fixed menu, feeling that the presentation was more the focus than the food, and that the experience was a one-and-done. This year, the restaurant has made changes, and Eden 2.0 is far better. Now you can pick and choose from the menu, rather than your only choice being a fixed menu, and that flexibility makes a huge difference. Plus, the focus is now on the food, where it should be, although the presentation is still impressive.
Pro Tip: If you plan to eat at Eden for dinner, skip lunch, and at dinner, order more than one appetizer or entrée to share. The food is so good, you’ll want to try more.
The Menus

The Appetizers
My husband isn’t shy, so he ordered several appetizers during both our meals at Eden, which gave us plenty to share and try. Overall, we tried seven appetizers of the ten offered. My favorite was the gnocchi, while his was the shrimp. All were excellent, however.

The Entrées
Again, we ordered several entrées to try, ending up with five of the nine offered. Yes, we ordered a lot of food over two meals, but we ate every bit of it. Nothing went to waste.
My favorite was the filet (I had it both nights since I don’t eat seafood), and my husband’s favorite was the lobster casserole. He tried to get it the second night too and the restaurant was out of lobster that day, much to his disappointment. Our least favorite entrée was the lamb. It looked like a mini meatloaf and was dry.

Pro Tip: Make your reservation as soon as possible. Eden sells out fast, even for early and late dinner times.
The Desserts
The desserts at Eden were just as delicious and beautiful as the appetizers and entrees. We tried four of them, plus a surprise dessert from the chef.
