Staying in Celebrity Cruises’ Retreat means being pampered and living a life of luxury while you are on your cruise. Here is what is provided in The Retreat on Celebrity for you, helpful items that will reduce the number of things you need to pack.
We cruise often on Celebrity, usually in The Retreat, a luxurious suite-class accommodation option available on Celebrity Cruises ships. With its own restaurant, bar, and sun deck, The Retreat offers a luxurious home away from home, which extends to your elegant suite.
When we pack for an upcoming Celebrity cruise, we leave some things at home because we know they will be provided.
Following is a list of things you may not have to pack when cruising in The Retreat on Celebrity.
1 | Bath Toiletries
Celebrity provides pump bottles of C.O. Bigelow products including bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap, and lip balm. Unless you have extra-sensitive skin or have strong preferences about your products, you can leave these at home. Also provided are cotton balls, ear swabs, and shower caps.
2 | Hair Dryer
Celebrity Cruises provides hair dryers in all their staterooms, including suites in The Retreat. For me, they work perfectly fine, although some might not like needing to hold a button down to keep the airflow going. If you have hair that takes longer to dry or have specific hair needs, you can certainly bring your hair dryer.
3 | Binoculars
We love having binoculars with us when we cruise—because you never know when you might catch sight of a whale or porpoises or interesting sea birds. But when we’re staying in The Retreat, we leave our binoculars at home. Celebrity provides a pair for you in your suite’s closet, either a compact pair or a full-size pair like the ones below that we had on our last cruise.
4 | Umbrella
Provided for your use during your cruise are not one but two umbrellas, one large golf-type umbrella and one compact travel umbrella. You will find these in your suite’s closet. Not having to pack your own umbrella for excursions on a rainy day is such a space saver!

5 | Tote Bag
Celebrity usually gifts its Retreat guests with a nice canvas tote bag, which you will find waiting for you in your cabin. Cruising frequently on Celebrity, we have a collection of them, most of which even fold into a zippered pouch.
The totes are standard size, large enough for a couple of towels and sunscreen, but not roomy enough to also include a change of clothing. If you need a larger tote bag than this, you might want to bring your own. We find these totes nice to take with us for a visit to the solarium onboard.
6 | Bathrobe and Slippers
Waiting for you in your closet will be two plush gray bathrobes and two pairs of slippers. The bathrobes are warm and absorbent, although small for larger people.
7 | Pool Towels
One more thing you won’t need to pack for your cruise is a pool towel. Celebrity provides oversized pool towels for you in your suite, which your cabin steward will replenish as you use them. Be sure to bring them back to your cabin, though, after an excursion or trip to the pool or solarium.
If you don’t have pool towels in your cabin, don’t worry. They are provided at the Retreat Sundeck and the solarium.
8 | Snacks
With all the wonderful food available onboard, plus the daily canapés your butler can deliver to your stateroom as guests in The Retreat, there is no need to bring your own snacks. Simply tell your butler what you would like delivered each day, and they will take care of it. Snacks are also provided in the Retreat Lounge each morning and afternoon, and every afternoon in Michael’s Club if your ship has not been revolutionized yet.
