The Breakaway is the namesake and first ship in Norwegian Cruise Line‘s Breakaway class, with its ground-breaking introduction of The Haven, a ship-within-a-ship concept that offers exclusive luxury. We have sailed several times on this ship, most recently to the Caribbean, and have compiled a photo tour of Norwegian Breakaway for you.

I couldn’t include everything, of course, the post would be too long, but this should give you a good idea of what you can expect to see when you board the Breakaway. You will also be more aware of where to find the venues you will visit the most.

Aft and stern refer to the back of the ship, while the bow and forward refer to the front of the ship. When facing forward, port refers to the left side and starboard is on the right.

More information is available in other posts about the Breakaway’s restaurants, its Haven complex, and its staterooms.

About The Ship

In 2013, Norwegian Cruise Line launched the Breakaway, a midsize ship that holds 3,903 passengers at double occupancy and has 1,657 crew. The ship’s colorful hull was designed by Peter Max. A breathtaking chandelier stretches from Deck 8 to Deck 6.

The Breakaway cruises the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Bermuda, as well as Canada/New England, the Mediterranean, and Northern Europe. For longer cruises, check out the Breakaway’s extraordinary journeys and transatlantic cruises.

About The Tour

Because Deck 1 through Deck 4 are only accessible to the crew, our ship tour will begin at the stern on Deck 5 and then move forward to the bow. We will take each deck one by one, exploring from the bottom of the ship to the top.

Deck 5

Deck 5 is the lowest deck accessible by passengers. It holds exclusively passenger staterooms except for the Medical Center, which can be found midship and accessed by the forward elevators. Hope you never have to go there!
