We recently had lunch at Le Grand Bistro on Celebrity Edge. This was our second time, and overall, it was just as amazing as the first.
Last year, we had lunch at Le Grand Bistro and loved it. Going back a second time on our recent cruise on the Edge, we wondered if the restaurant would be as wonderful. Luckily for us, it was a fabulous meal overall.

Le Grand Bistro Details
First, here are the important details about the restaurant:
- Location: Deck 4 mid-ship

Pro Tip: Skip breakfast and plan for a late dinner when you lunch at Le Grand Bistro. Its four courses are a LOT of food for the money.
Le Grand Bistro Menu
Le Grand Bistro’s menu is fairly broad with a good number of selections, as you can see below.
The Ambiance
The moment you set foot into the Le Grand Bistro, you feel as if you’ve been transported to a sidewalk cafe in France. With its retro tin ceiling tiles and elegant table settings, the scene is set for a Francophile’s dream meal. The color scheme is burgundy and off-white with dark furniture, and the background music is delightfully French.
At the entrance is a glass bakery case filled with all your favorite French baked goods. From macarons to madeleines, you’ll find something to tempt you.
Pro Tip: After your meal, pick out a few complimentary pastries to take back to your cabin.

First Course
For our starters, we ordered the escargot and the chèvre crêpe. Both were excellent, although my husband felt the way they used to present the escargot—encased in the pastry rather than on top of it—was a tastier choice. The crêpe was filled with warm, garlicky goat cheese…marvelous!

Second Course
For our next course, we ordered salads. The frisée lardon salad is served with bacon, pickled shallots, sprinkled with parmesan, and a poached egg on top. The baby arugula salad has pine nuts and balsamic dressing, with three goat-cheese croquettes. Both were extremely yummy!

Third Course
For our entrées, we ordered the crêpes cordon bleu and the brie-and-turkey baguette sandwich. The crêpes are filled with chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese with black pepper dressing on top and arugula and cherry tomatoes on the side. The sandwich was built with brie and sliced turkey, salad greens, and an apple dressing.
Every time we eat at Le Grand Bistro, I tell myself I’m going to order one of their delicious plated entrees for the third course. And every time, I order a baguette sandwich instead because it reminds me so much of the fabulous trip I took to France in my senior year of high school. Ooh-la-la!
Both dishes were as wonderful as they looked, although my husband had to finish my sandwich for me so I could save room for dessert. How could I skip dessert at a French restaurant?

Fourth Course
For dessert, we ordered apple tatin and profiteroles. The apple tart was piped with crème fraîche and covered with caramel sauce. The profiteroles were stuffed with chocolate ice cream and then drizzled with chocolate sauce. Both were sheer perfection, although I have to admit, I’m still trying to figure out the best way to eat a profiterole without the ice cream squeezing out onto my plate.
