The Breakaway is the namesake and first ship in Norwegian Cruise Line‘s Breakaway class, with its ground-breaking introduction of The Haven, a ship-within-a-ship concept that offers exclusive luxury. We have sailed several times on this ship, most recently to the Caribbean, and have compiled a photo tour of Norwegian Breakaway for you.
I couldn’t include everything, of course, the post would be too long, but this should give you a good idea of what you can expect to see when you board the Breakaway. You will also be more aware of where to find the venues you will visit the most.
More information is available in other posts about the Breakaway’s restaurants, its Haven complex, and its staterooms.

About The Ship
In 2013, Norwegian Cruise Line launched the Breakaway, a midsize ship that holds 3,903 passengers at double occupancy and has 1,657 crew. The ship’s colorful hull was designed by Peter Max. A breathtaking chandelier stretches from Deck 8 to Deck 6.

The Breakaway cruises the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Bermuda, as well as Canada/New England, the Mediterranean, and Northern Europe. For longer cruises, check out the Breakaway’s extraordinary journeys and transatlantic cruises.
About The Tour
Because Deck 1 through Deck 4 are only accessible to the crew, our ship tour will begin at the stern on Deck 5 and then move forward to the bow. We will take each deck one by one, exploring from the bottom of the ship to the top.
Deck 5
Deck 5 is the lowest deck accessible by passengers. It holds exclusively passenger staterooms except for the Medical Center, which can be found midship and accessed by the forward elevators. Hope you never have to go there!

Deck 6
From the stern moving forward on Deck 6, you will find Taste and Savor, two of the complimentary main dining rooms, followed by Mixx, a bar.

Next you will come to an area open to the two above decks with a lighted staircase (perfect for selfies!). You will pass the specialty restaurants Teppanyaki and Le Bistro on your right and the Headliners Comedy Club on your left.

Walking through an art gallery hall, you will come to the Atrium area. On your right will be the Atrium Bar, perfect for picking up a drink before Deal or No Deal or Trivia or line dance lessons on the stage at the center of the Atrium. Starbucks and the Internet Cafe will also be on your right, as well as the Library and the Card Room, which aren’t pictured. If you’re having trouble with your Wi-Fi, the Internet Cafe is the place to go.

On your left, you will see Guest Services, where you can handle any problems that may pop up on your cruise or ask questions. The Shore Excursion Desk is where you can learn about, sign up for, or discuss an issue with excursions.

Next, you will encounter the Spiegel Tent, an entertainment and gathering venue.

In the front or bow of this deck will be the lowest level of the theater, which we’ll picture on the next deck.

Deck 7
The entire aft portion of Deck 7 is encompassed by the Manhattan Room, the largest and most elegant of the complimentary main dining rooms.

As we move forward from the Manhattan Room, we will find Shanghai’s Noodle Bar on the right (which is extremely hard to get into but well worth it), and the Bliss Ultra Lounge on the left.

Midship of deck 7 is filled with the Breakaway Casino, where you can try your luck at the tables or on the slot machines.

Once through the casino, you will reach O’Sheehan’s, which includes a bar and 24/7 pub-style restaurant.

In the bow of Deck 7 will be the main entrance for the Theater, with its box office and bar.

Deck 8
The bow of Deck 8 is the home of Moderno Churrascaria and Cagney’s, which are specialty restaurants, anchored by the Prime Meridian Bar.

Moving forward, you will pass the Tides Boutique, which carries clothing and other items.

Next, you will have Tradewinds Tax and Duty-Free Shop on your left and the Photo Gallery on your right.

Coming up on your right will be the specialty restaurants Ocean Blue, Wasabi, and the Raw Bar, all specializing in seafood.

On your left will be Shaker’s Martini Bar, where we recommend you try a martini flight, and the Skyy Vodka Ice Bar, where you can spend the coldest 20 minutes of your life bundled up in a parka while drinking vodka from an ice tumbler. It’s an experience not to be missed.

Next on your right will be Maltings Whiskey Bar, which is next to the Humidor Cigar Lounge. Be sure to try a Blackberry Bourbon Smash if you stop at Maltings.

A little farther forward will be the specialty restaurant La Cucina on your left, and Syd Norman’s Pour House (an entertainment venue specializing in rock music) on your right.

Beyond these venues are passenger staterooms in the bow.

Deck 14
Deck 14 is exclusively passenger staterooms with the exception of a lower level of the Spa. The entrance to the Spa is on Deck 15.

Deck 15
The aft of Deck 15 is the home of the complimentary Garden Cafe, also known as the buffet. Outside the Garden Cafe you will find open-air eating areas if you prefer to dine al fresco.

Moving forward you will be on the pool deck, or the Lido deck as it is commonly known. On the left will be the Kids Aqua Park with a pool, followed by the pool bar and the main pool.

Moving forward and heading back inside, we’ll find the Fitness Center and Spa, which includes a salon, barber shop, thermal suite, and more.

Some passenger staterooms are located on the port side toward the bow of the ship.

Deck 16
In the aft of Deck 16 is Spice H2O, an adults-only entertainment and bar area with hot tubs and a waterfall. Large parties are held in this area at night.

This is followed by the Entourage Teen Lounge and the Video Arcade on the left, with the complimentary restaurant American Diner on the right.

Next, you’ll see the Sun Deck and the Jogging Track, followed by the slides, the Whip and Free Fall. More Sun Deck areas follow, with an overlook to the pool deck below.

Past this is the exclusive enclave of The Haven, which you must have a Haven keycard to enter. Inside, you will find the Haven Restaurant, Concierge, Lounge, Bar, Courtyard, and staterooms.

Deck 17
Deck 17 is divided into two parts. The aft section is the Sports Complex, which includes the Ropes Course. Both are accessible by stairs from Deck 16.

The forward section is the home of the Vibe Beach Club and the private Haven Sun Deck.

Deck 18
Deck 18 is also divided into two parts: the Basketball Court and a Sun Deck.
