Norwegian Prima, the first in NCL’s Leonardo class of ships, has redesigned how you dine on a cruise. Restaurants on Norwegian Prima are innovative and avant-garde, with so many delicious choices, that you may have difficulty deciding. We recently sailed on the Prima and prepared this guide to help you.
Dress Code
The dress code for Norwegian Cruise Line’s restaurants is less formal than many other cruise lines. Either casual or smart casual is required, depending on the restaurant. Norwegian defines casual and smart casual on its website.
COMPLIMENTARY RESTAURANTS
There are five complimentary restaurants on Norwegian Prima:
- Indulge Food Hall – a food hall
- Hudson’s – the largest main dining room
- Commodore Room – a main dining room
- Surfside Cafe & Grill – the buffet
- The Local Bar & Grille – a 24/7 pub-style restaurant
Indulge Food Hall
When you step into Norwegian Cruise Line’s Indulge Food Hall on the Norwegian Prima, it’s like entering a foodie paradise. When you dine at a specialty restaurant, you can pay à la carte or you can use your dining plan. With their Free at Sea program, Norwegian offers from one to three dinners at a specialty restaurant for free, depending on the length of your cruise. Depending on your Latitudes loyalty tier, you may also receive two extra specialty dinners.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON RESTAURANTS ON NORWEGIAN PRIMA
During our fifteen-day sailing on the Prima, we ate at 10 of the 13 restaurants onboard and enjoyed every one. For complimentary dining, we recommend Hudson’s or the Indulge Food Hall. For specialty dining, we highly recommend Palomar.
