Behind this sign is a luxurious enclave, Norwegian Breakaway The Haven, which promises its guests luxury and pampering during their cruise. We have stayed in The Haven many times, and always look forward to returning.

Located on Decks 16 and 17 forward, The Haven offers nearly everything you might want or need while onboard. Only guests and crew members of The Haven are given entry via keycard. To maintain the exclusivity of the area, visitors are not allowed.

Located on Decks 16 and 17, the enclave includes a restaurant exclusive to guests of The Haven, as well as a lounge, bar, concierge desk, and an enclosed courtyard with pool and hot tubs, a private spa area, and a private sun deck.

Suites are located on Deck 16, although some Haven suites are located outside the enclave on Deck 15 near the Spa. Forward and aft penthouses are also available on other decks. All Haven suites have full access to the amenities, however.

From the moment you enter The Haven, expect to be pampered. Between your butler, your concierge, your waiter, and your bartender, you’ll hardly need to lift a finger.

The Haven Restaurant

Exclusive to guests of The Haven, the Haven Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The decor is elegant, and the ambiance soothing. Tables for two, four, or six are set with white tablecloths, fine china, and crystal, and accommodations can be made for larger groups.

For breakfast, you can order a hot meal from the menu or enjoy cold treats from the breakfast buffet, which gives you a nice grab-and-go option on port days.

The food is beautifully presented and delicious, with enough variety to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. And if there is something you would like that isn’t offered, simply ask. Also, be sure to let the chef know if you have food allergies or need a special diet. Accommodations will be made for you.

The menu for the Haven Restaurant is the same every evening, but there are nightly specials. Below is a sample dinner menu.

The Haven Lounge

Within The Haven enclave, the lounge is adjacent to the bar, the perfect place to have a cocktail with friends before dinner, or on your own. A waiter circulates, happy to bring whatever you would like from the bar.

The lounge is also used as a meeting place for priority disembarkation for guests of The Haven.

The Haven Concierge

Adjacent to the Haven Lounge is the Concierge area, where one or two concierges are on duty throughout the day to help you with any problems that may arise, questions you may have, or to give you advice about excursions. They can also help with reservations for dinner or shows.

The Haven Bar

Also inside The Haven enclave is the Haven bar, staffed with fun bartenders who are not only talented but entertaining. They will learn your preferences quickly and will be ready with the perfect cocktail before you can blink an eye.

The Haven Courtyard and Sundeck

Step outside the Haven Lounge to the Haven Courtyard, where you can dine, have a cocktail, enjoy a dip in a hot tub, or simply relax in one of the loungers, either next to the plunge pool or inside it.

During the day, a small buffet is set up with hot and cold beverages, as well as with a few snacks.

Perks of The Haven

When you book a suite in the Haven, it will include unlimited Wi-Fi and a premium beverage package. It will also include the other perks of the Free At Sea package that was on offer when you booked, such as a $50 credit on each port excursion for the first passenger on the reservation.

Once aboard, you will have a butler and a stateroom attendant who will attend to your needs. Your butler will bring you afternoon canapes, as well as room service that you may order, and your stateroom attendant will see to any needs you have regarding your suite.

Other benefits that come with the Haven are priority embarkation and disembarkation (including during excursions), priority tendering, and reserved seating at shows.

Suite Gratuities

Suite gratuities for Haven guests are charged separately and are $25 per person per day. However, you are welcome to give additional tips to crew members who provide services above and beyond.

The Haven’s Dress Code

The dress code for The Haven is much like that on the rest of the ship. The Haven Restaurant is considered a specialty restaurant, and its dress code is the same as for other specialty restaurants.

In essence, during the day in The Haven, “cruise casual” is the dress expected, which essentially means that you dress casually but nicely. Coverups are required over bathing suits except next to the pool.

In the evening in The Haven, “smart casual” is the dress expected, which means you dress nicely. No shorts or sandals for men.

There are dressy nights, which Norwegian refers to as “Dress Up or Not Night.” On these evenings, you are encouraged but not required to dress up. Photographers will be about the ship on these evenings, taking photos. These occasions will be announced in your daily newsletter.
