Details About The Ascent
The Ascent is, at this writing, the newest ship in its fleet of Celebrity Cruises Edge-class ships, which now number four (Apex, Ascent, Beyond, and Edge). At 1,073 feet long and with a passenger capacity of 3,260, she is a larger ship and has so much to offer her guests. Launched in November of 2023, the Ascent is quickly becoming a favorite among cruisers.
The Retreat on an Edge-class ship is extensive, with a large number of suites, an exclusive restaurant, a large lounge with a bar, a sundeck with a bar and eating area, as well as a plunge pool and hot tubs.
Suites on Celebrity Ascent
Celebrity Ascent has seven types of suites, including:
- Sky Suite: Studio, one bath, 319 square feet, veranda 79 square feet.
- Aqua Sky Suite: Studio, one bath, 319 square feet, veranda 79 square feet.
- Celebrity Suite: Living area, one bedroom, one bath, larger veranda, 401 square feet, veranda 100 square feet.
- Royal Suite: One bedroom, one and a half baths, sun room, dining for four, 687 square feet, veranda 72 square feet.
- Edge Villa: One bedroom, two baths, two stories, large terrace with plunge pool, 739 square feet, veranda 211 square feet.
- Penthouse Suite: Two bedrooms, two baths, large veranda, dining for six, 1,378 square feet, veranda 197 square feet.
- Iconic Suite: Two bedrooms, two baths, sundeck with hot tub, dining for six, 1,892 square feet, veranda 689 square feet.

Luminae Restaurant
Luminae is an upscale restaurant exclusive to guests staying in the Retreat. From the moment you are greeted by the hostess until you leave the restaurant, you are treated like royalty. Your maître d’, hostess, waiter, assistant waiter, and sommelier will ensure it.
The menus, which have recently been updated, feature classic American and continental dishes, sure to intrigue you and tantalize your palate.
The breakfast and lunch menus remain the same each day, but the dinner menu, as seen in a few samples below from the Celebrity app, changes each evening.

Retreat Lounge
The Retreat Lounge on the Ascent is an open, airy space with many choices of seating and panoramic views. Open 24/7, it is only available to Retreat guests.
The lounge has a full bar as well as a buffet area that offers gourmet sweet and savory bites at various times throughout the day. It also has coolers where you can help yourself to beverages to take back to your stateroom.
Your concierge team is stationed in the Retreat Lounge and is available to you throughout the day. Entertainment and cocktail parties in the Retreat Lounge are usually scheduled throughout the itinerary.
Retreat Sundeck
The Retreat Sundeck at the bow of the Ascent is an inviting space that offers comfortable sofas and chairs for relaxing, but also lounge chairs and day beds for sunning.
There is also a full bar on the sundeck, including a large seating area for eating. With its relaxing plunge pool and hot tubs, the Retreat Sundeck is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the ship’s pool deck.
One new touch I love about the Ascent’s Retreat Sundeck is the unique sculpture they added that seems to disappear when viewed at different angles. Lovely!

Final Thoughts On The Retreat On Celebrity Ascent
After recently sailing in the Retreat on the Ascent, we are huge fans. The only drawback we saw to the Retreat on the Ascent was the lack of outdoor seating in the Retreat Lounge, which is available on other ships.
