Eager to see what the new Celebrity Ascent sky suite is like? We just spent seven nights in one on a Caribbean cruise and were treated like royalty. At the end of the cruise, we didn’t want to go home!
In this post, we will give you all the details about the suite with photos, including the bed, bathroom, balcony, storage, technology, and a video walkthrough as well.
The Ship
The Ascent is an Edge-class ship in the Celebrity fleet, just having finished her inaugural sailing in November 2023. With a capacity for 3,260 passengers, the Ascent is a nice size, large enough to provide many choices in entertainment and dining options, but not large enough to get lost in.
If you have sailed on an Edge-class ship before on Celebrity, you will feel right at home on the Ascent. Gorgeous new artwork and decor touches abound that distinguish this ship from its sisters.
The Suite’s Sleeping Area
We stayed in sky suite 9182, which is a 319-square-foot studio cabin with a combined sleeping and living area, plus a separate bathroom and a balcony. The sleeping area consists of a plush king-size bed with premium linens and comforter, plus four down pillows.
If you don’t care for the pillows or comforter, no worries. Just ask your stateroom attendant for an alternative.
During the day, your bed will be made up with three decorative pillows and a runner at the foot, which will be removed each evening during turndown service. A small chocolate will be left on your pillow at bedtime, which is a nice touch.
Your bed is high enough off the floor to allow you to store your suitcases beneath it.
On either side of the bed is a small nightstand with a lamp, which is affixed to the tabletop. Below are cubbies for your belongings. The nightstand on the left side of the bed is smaller than the nightstand on the right side.
The right-hand nightstand has a US electrical outlet and two USB ports, but the left-hand nightstand has none.
If both you and your partner use a CPAP machine, ask your cabin attendant to provide you with an extension cord for the second CPAP, since only one side of the bed has an electrical outlet. Also, use one of your magnet hooks on the wall high above this table to loop your CPAP tubing over during the day to keep it out of the way.
The Bathroom
The bathroom is a nice size, comfortable for two people to use at once with a double sink, hair/makeup area, separate toilet closet, and a soaking tub/shower combination with a shower wand. Bigelow toiletries are provided for you, including body lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
The bathroom has ample storage. Two drawers are beneath the sink, and shelves on either side of the sink area allow you to spread out your personal toiletries with ease.
A small tray on a shelf holds complimentary cotton balls, cotton swabs, shower cap, and lip balm.
The hair/makeup area has a lighted magnifying mirror and a stool beneath. Your hair dryer is in a drawer beneath the sink.
One nice feature that we love about many of Celebrity’s sky suites is that the bathroom mirror is two panels that slide aside to allow you to see into the bedroom. Open them up, and you can enjoy the ocean view while brushing your teeth in the morning.
Storage Areas
The Celebrity Ascent sky suite has ample storage, including a large closet for your hanging clothing (using a rod and a half). Ask your cabin attendant if you need more clothes hangers.
There is also a second closet that contains several shelves, one of which holds your room safe, plus drawers.
Your living area has a chest of drawers with three divided drawers, perfect for two people’s clothing and belongings. Those are the gray drawers in the photo below.
The Desk
Celebrity has thought of everything, including a desk that can double as a hair/makeup area with a lighted mirror. On top of the desk, you will find a leather folio that holds your first day’s newsletter, excursion tickets, informational flyers, and business cards for your cabin attendant, butler, and concierge team.
Refreshment Center
On top of your chest of drawers is a small tray that holds two glasses, an ice bucket, and complimentary bottles of water, which will be replenished when needed. If you would like the bucket to be filled with ice each day, just ask your cabin attendant.
The white cabinet next to your chest of drawers holds a mini fridge, which is stocked with items for sale. We suggest you ask your cabin attendant to clear the fridge for you, so you can stock the fridge with complimentary waters and sodas you can retrieve from the Retreat Lounge.
Technology
Of course, your cabin has a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, which pivots so you can enjoy watching it from your bed or from the sofa. A remote is provided.
As on other Edge-class ships, your drapes and lighting modes are controlled by a touch-screen panel on the wall in your entryway.
A new feature on the Ascent is a slim portable phone that you can carry with you on the ship. If you are like us, you will probably cover it with a washcloth at night because the light it emits can keep you awake.
The phone is plugged into the box that holds your primary electrical outlets, as shown below. One European and two US outlets are available, as well as one of the two USB ports. Tuck your cords inside and close the lid to hide them.
Seating Area
A sofa and table provide a comfortable seating area for you to watch TV or have a snack or light meal.
The Balcony
At 79 square feet, the sky suite’s balcony is spacious. Furnished with two comfortable chairs and a small table, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or snack while taking in the sunset.
Sky Suite Amenities and Benefits
Your Celebrity Ascent sky suite comes with your own cabin attendant plus the services of a butler, however, your butler is one of a shared pool. To be honest, you may only meet your butler on embarkation day now that Celebrity has cut back on butler service for sky suites.
Other perks include priority services such as check-in, luggage delivery, disembarkation, tendering ashore, and dining reservations. Retreat guests also have access to reserved theater seats.
You will also receive complimentary in-cabin dining service, premium robes and slippers, a pillow menu on request, premium bath products, and a large bathtub. In your closet, you will find an umbrella and binoculars for your use during your cruise, as well as a branded Celebrity tote that you can take home. Fresh flowers will adorn your coffee table, and a complimentary bottle of sparkling, red, or white wine will be awaiting you on the first day.
In addition, you will have exclusive access to Luminae Restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Retreat Lounge will also be available to you, where you can receive concierge service, complimentary cocktails, and snacks.
No need to hurry to the pool to grab a lounger, because you will have access to the Retreat Sundeck. There, you can lounge by a plunge pool, enjoy a cocktail at the Retreat Bar, or simply relax and enjoy the view in one of the many seating areas available.

The Celebrity Ascent sky suite is a luxurious accommodation sure to please even the most discerning cruiser. Its amenities are top-notch, as is the perks that come with the suite. And the service?
