The Retreat on Celebrity Equinox is a serene oasis for the laid-back cruiser who enjoys luxury. From the time you arrive at the port to the time you disembark, you will be treated like honored guests. We sailed in the Celebrity Equinox Retreat on our last cruise and are happy to take you on a tour of what we experienced.
Details About Celebrity Equinox
The Equinox is part of Celebrity Cruises’ fleet of Solstice-class ships, which number five (Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette, and Reflection). At 1,041 feet long and with a passenger capacity of 2,852, Equinox is a mid-size ship that has so much to offer its guests. Launched in August 2009, the Equinox is a favorite among many cruisers, partly because of its grass lawn, and also the fact that it is one of only two ships to have a hot-glass class at sea, Celebrity Solstice being the other ship.
The Retreat on a Solstice-class ship like Equinox is somewhat abbreviated compared to The Retreat on Edge-Class ships but is still wonderful. It has an exclusive restaurant, a lounge with a bar, and a sundeck with plentiful seating.
Suites on Celebrity Equinox
Celebrity Equinox has seven types of suites, including:
- Sky Suite: Studio, one bath, 379 square feet.
- Aqua Sky Suite: Studio, one bath, 379 square feet.
- Sunset Sky Suite: Studio, one bath, 366 to 399+ square feet.
- Celebrity Suite: Living area, one bedroom, one bath, larger veranda, 499 square feet.
- Horizon Suite: Living area, one bedroom, one bath, 620 to 680 square feet.
- Royal Suite: One bedroom, one and a half baths, dining for six, 743 square feet.
- Penthouse Suite: One bedroom, two baths, large veranda, dining for eight, 1,680 square feet.

Luminae Restaurant
Luminae is an upscale restaurant exclusive to guests staying in the Retreat. Your maître d’, hostess, waiter, assistant waiter, and sommelier will ensure you feel special at every meal.
The menus, which have recently been updated, feature classic American and continental dishes, sure to intrigue you and tantalize your palate.
The breakfast menus remain the same each day, but the lunch menus change but always have the signature burger and Cobb salad. The dinner menu, as seen in a few samples below from the Celebrity app, changes each evening.

Retreat Lounge
The Retreat Lounge on the Equinox is a cozy, comfortable space with many seating choices. Open 24/7, it is only available to Retreat guests.
The lounge has a full bar with a delightful bartender and a buffet area that offers gourmet sweet and savory bites at various times throughout the day. It also has coolers from which you can select canned or bottled beverages to take to your stateroom.
Your concierge team is stationed at the entrance to the Retreat Lounge and is available to you throughout the day. Entertainment and cocktail parties, such as the Officers Soirée, are scheduled in the Retreat Lounge throughout the itinerary.
Retreat Sundeck
The Retreat Sundeck at the bow of the Equinox is an inviting space that offers comfortable sofas and chairs for relaxing, but also lounge chairs and day beds for sunning. As this is a revolutionized sundeck, there is no plunge pool or hot tub as you’ll see on an Edge-class Retreat Sundeck.
Note that the Retreat Sundeck is only reachable by stairs; no elevator goes to this area.
