The Prima is a new vessel in Norwegian Cruise Lines‘ fleet, a revolutionary Prima-class ship designed to amaze you. We have recently returned from a fifteen-day cruise and will give you a deck-by-deck photo tour of Norwegian Prima, highlighting many of the venues you will see.

Not everything is pictured, of course, the post would be too long, but I have tried to give you an idea of what you can expect to see when you board the Prima. You will also be more aware of what is available on the ship and where to find it.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate on our cruise for good photos of the exterior amenities. With temperatures in the 30s and 40s Fahrenheit, thick fog, and rain, it just wasn’t possible on this transatlantic cruise.

Aft and stern refer to the back of a ship, while the bow and forward refer to the front of a ship. Port refers to the left side of a ship facing forward, and starboard is the right side of a ship facing forward.

More information is available in other posts about the Prima’s restaurants, the Haven complex, and a Haven Two-Bedroom Villa with Large Balcony on the Prima.

About The Ship

The Prima is a Prima-class ship in the NCL fleet. Built in 2022, she made her inaugural sailing in October 2022. With a capacity of 3,099 passengers, the Prima is a smaller ship than the Breakaway Plus ships that preceded her: the Encore (2015), Joy (2017), Bliss (2018), and Escape (2019).

Following Prima in the Prima Class is Viva (2023) and soon Aqua (2025). Three more Prima class ships are scheduled to follow before a new class will be introduced.

About The Tour

This tour will begin at the lowest accessible deck for passengers, Deck 6, moving forward through the deck to the bow. Successive deck tours will follow the same pattern from stern to bow.

Deck 6

Deck 6 is the lowest deck on the Prima accessible to passengers. From the stern moving forward, you will find Cagney’s, a specialty restaurant, and the Commodore Room, a main dining restaurant, anchored by the Belvedere Bar, which was popular in the mornings for its continental breakfast and coffee spread on the bar. People tended to congregate at its tables throughout the day to play cards or to read.
